The one mistake I made as a working mother… Do you relate with this?
That time when you are still getting used to your new reality of juggling work and family and keep performing well at work to deserve a promotion…
I feared judgment from colleagues, leading to confusion and stress. So I resolved to hiding behind a smile each time I fell less on top of my game at work, or couldn't put in long hours anymore.
Today I will share with you the three things that l turned around my experience. These could also make your experience as a working mom more exciting.
1: Productivity. When it comes to productivity, we often focus solely on our work lives. However, productivity is about managing your time effectively both at work and at home. Ask yourself:
How much can I delegate?
Can I leverage the people around me for support?
Do I have a capable nanny who can manage my household efficiently?
Remember, productivity is not just about working harder; it's about working smarter. By streamlining your tasks and leveraging help, you can create more time for yourself and your family.
2: Prioritize your inner energy. As working moms, we often put the needs of others before our own. However, neglecting your inner energy can lead to burnout and resentment.
Make time for yourself every day, whether it's through meditation, exercise, or simply taking a few minutes of quiet time.
Start your day by focusing on your own well-being. This could involve practicing gratitude, setting positive intentions, or simply taking a few minutes to breathe deeply and center yourself. When you start your day with high vibrational energy, you'll set yourself up for a more fulfilling and productive day.
3: Own your confidence. Your confidence is a powerful tool that can help you achieve your goals.
When you believe in yourself, you're more likely to speak up for yourself and negotiate for what you need.
Remember, your lower self and your higher self are always battling for control. When your lower self is in charge, you may doubt your abilities and feel like you're not good enough.
However, when your higher self is in control, you feel confident, assertive, and capable.
A more confident me back then, instead of feeling anxious would have told my manager: I'm still committed and performant for this job, but I'll work smarter instead of putting long hours as I used to.
Choose to believe in yourself and your abilities. When you project confidence, others will perceive you as a competent and capable leader.
I hope these 3 tips make a difference for you.
