Well, I'd like to start first with how do people define Success, in my experience

Most people want to be successful, but at the expense of their wellbeing...

I’ve seen people reach a business goal, yet they are unhappy in the end, and they have tense relationships with their family, the people who truly matter.

Because, when you are solely focused on hitting that business or financial target, it’s likely you forget your body at some point, and get in a physical and mental state that stops serving you along the journey of success.

I always tell people, the moment your wellbeing is not intentionally in the picture from the onset while you are planning your goals, you have set yourself for failure, not for success.

SO, for the past 3 years, I've embarked on a quest to understand success at a deeper level... And how someone can shape their success. And some of those findings are part of what I'll share with you today.

#1. Success is being happy with the life you have right now. Are you happy? In which areas are you unsatisfied? And why that is?

In 1 sentence, I'd say success is having what you want and wanting what you have.

And when you understand this, you realize it's not about the end goal, but all along the journey, you can be happy with what you want and want what you have.

Success is about the state of mind you are in, at any given moment of your journey and experience.

But you can't get in that state of mind, if your personal wellness is not in the right place.

#2. The first step you can take on your journey to success Success, is mastering the circles of life.

Personal story. Pausing and taking 1 month off, when I was in a busy role as a CD at an international organization in health.

When you, your state of mind, your energy, your health, are well taken care of, you influence your family and the work around you positively.

Then, you actually perform mut better at work - that's what happened after my 1 month away from work and it was entirely worth it, both for myself, my family, and my work.

So I mean it when I say there is a true win-win-win possibility between self-family life - and work life. We just need to find that spot and zone into it effectively, with the right tools, and the right help.

Then from your success at work, the world around you. That's the people you meet on your commute to work, in the street, etc. have a better experience, even nature - that's the plants and animals around you.

The biggest question is: will you be the positive agent of change for success in your own life and the world around you? Or will you let the external circles corrupt you and dictate your state of mind, and as a result, your success or failure?

#3. Top level performance is about energy, not time.

Let's do an exercise quickly right now.

Take a piece of paper and a pen. Everyone ready?

On a piece of paper. I want you to draw two columns on the left hand side, What gives you energy? Think back to your past year. Think back to your past five years. What are the things that whenever you did then they really give you energy and make you feel. Excited. To do more.

Then on the second column, what are the things that instead, drain your energy…

  • Pour them on the paper
  • The more brutally honest you are with yourself, the more you'll get something very concrete out of our hour together today and you'll know it ws an hour well spent to get you closer to top level performance

Then on the third column, write down. What are the five things you did when you woke up today? Really, in chronoloical order?

  • Phone?
  • Emails?
  • Prayer?
  • What else?

Be honest with yourself.

What are the key differences that you notice? And what insights does this give you into starting your days with high energy?

I'd like people in the room. Who would like to share with us any insight.

Remember we're here about change. So stepping out of your comfort zone and sharing your insights on this platform is already 1 step further towards success.

So put yourself out there and just share.

So the key take away is start your day with the actions and activities that give you high energy.

Then, imagine that you hit your family routine and your work day with all that energy that you have built up in your first hour in the morning. How is that going to impact your performance at work?

How is that going to create a ripple effect on to everything else. So that you get much more done in your day, but in much less time?

#4. What Can I Learn and Adjust Before the Year Ends?

Use your reflections to pinpoint areas where you can make changes right now.

  • Are there unfinished goals you can still tackle?
  • What small wins can you create before the year closes?

Ending the year on a high note gives you momentum heading into the new one, making the journey ahead smoother and more focused.

BONUS: What Can I Learn for the Year Ahead?

This final question is about transformation. Take what you’ve learned about your successes, challenges, and adjustments, and apply those lessons to your plans for the future.

Think about the habits you want to carry forward, the pitfalls to avoid, and the strategies that will help you thrive.

Write It Down: The Power of Reflection

Don’t skip the writing process.

Putting pen to paper activates neural connections in your brain, helping you internalize your insights and prepare for the journey ahead.

Treat your notebook as a guide you can revisit throughout the coming year.

Ready for the Next Step?

Once you’ve completed this exercise, you’ll have a clearer understanding of your starting point. From there, you’ll be ready to use the D.A.I.L.Y. method to map out your goals and achieve them predictably and realistically.

Start today by reflecting, writing, and learning from your journey so far. With clarity, you can confidently step into the future you envision.
