Act More, Think Less

NATO: No Action, Talk Only, is a famous quote my friends and I used in our university years, referring colleagues who promised to do many things, but no concrete actions followed. I'm sure you know people like that too?

I guess you can't stand this behavior if someone promised to you that they would do something, but consistently fail at taking action… And I'm the same way too…

At least, that's what I thought until my mentor and coach told me last week during a conversation: "Rhode.. You need to think less and act more…"

It reminded me about NATO and all my old colleagues who we called such. The idea of falling into the NATO category felt shameful and that feeling was enough for me get back on track with the action I needed to take!

I would have taken it either lightly or as an insult if this sentence had come from a friend or a colleague. But because it came from someone who I know has neutral motives and there is no agenda in our relationship except coaching and mentoring, I took it as a challenge, and results ensued.

The power of having someone who can challenge you.. The impact of this on your ability to take action and drive results is beyond imagination…

We are willing to do more to keep a good standing in the face of others than holding ourselves accountable.

So, my challenge for you this week, what is one goal or action you decided to take, but you are slow to take action and get done with?

Think less and just take that action… And because, you need someone to challenge you,in this 10-day challange, I give you the opportunity to transform your day to day and take more actions.

When you start taking action, you start making progress.

It doesn't matter if you think a thousand times or find a thousand possible solutions, if you take no action.

Action is what matter. So, just do it. Movement has force. Speed adds experience.
